The early 1980s saw Gibson release a succession of unique electric guitar models. This particular instrument—a 1984 "Black Knight Custom"—is equipped with a Kahler vibrato unit.
Its design features a flat-top Les Paul body shape with contours—reminiscent of the late-70s "The Paul"—and utilizes a bolt-on neck, a construction method also found on models such as the "Marauder" and "L6-S Midnight Special."
The 6-in-line headstock design is a rarity, giving the instrument a distinctive character that stands out even when compared to its sibling model, the "Invader."
It features a maple neck, mahogany body, and ebony fretboard, delivering a tone characterized by clarity and a firm, punchy attack.
