Musicmaster、Duo-Sonicの流れを汲み、独自の「ダイナミック・ヴィブラート・ユニット」「2つのピックアップスイッチ」を搭載し、軽やかなアーム・アクションと"フェイズアウト"サウンドが出力できるユニークなフェンダー・ギターです。
重量感のあるアッシュ材とウレタンフィニッシュの影響で、'60年代の個体に比べ硬質でどっしりとした音色が持ち味です。
キレのあるカッティングやロック色の強いドライブサウンドを好む方にとって最適なムスタングと言えます。
'70年代後期フェンダーに見られるStratocaster用のパーツを流用したVOLUME & TONEノブが個性的です。
ピックアップは近年のストラトキャスター用「Fender Pure Vintage '61」に交換。ムスタング用のピックアップカバーを取り付けることでルックスを維持しつつ、スタガード・ポールピースの独特な各弦ごとの音量バランスを併せ持ち、普段ストラトを弾いている方は馴染みの良い音色に感じるかもしれません。
ナット、フレットはオリジナルを維持、当店入荷時すり合わせを施工し、やや背は低めですが、音詰まりなく良好な演奏性を保っています。
オリジナルハードケース、貴重な当時のタグ、アーム、ブリッジカバーが付属いたします。

This 1978 Mustang features distinctive features such as a headstock serial number, black pickguard, and ash body.
In the vein of the Musicmaster and Duo-Sonic, this unique Fender guitar features a unique dynamic vibrato unit and two pickup switches, producing a light arm action and an "out-of-phase" sound.
The heavy ash wood and urethane finish give it a harder, more solid tone than models from the '60s.
This Mustang is perfect for those who prefer crisp cutting and driven sounds with a strong rock feel.
The volume and tone knobs, borrowed from parts found on Fender Stratocasters from the late '70s, add a unique touch.
The pickups have been replaced with recent Fender Pure Vintage '61 pickups designed for Stratocasters. Mustang pickup covers have been installed to maintain the look, while the staggered pole pieces provide a unique volume balance for each string, making the tone familiar to Stratocaster players.
The nut and frets are original and were filed when the guitar arrived at our shop. While the height is a little low, there's no choking and the guitar plays well.
It comes with the original hard case, valuable original tag, arm, and bridge cover.
